Care and Share

Care and Share at Trinity provides centre-based social activities program for people living at home in the Inner-South/ Eastern Adelaide Metro area and who are 65 years or older, or 50 years or older and identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The service is funded by Commonwealth Department of Health CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Program).
The aim of the service is to enhance general health and well-being of the older person. The program is a place to meet and make new friends while participating in variety of social activities.care and share

biscuitsCare and Share at Trinity operates each Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.
Come for the whole time, for a particular social activity, or just for lunch – A delicious two course home style meal is prepared in our kitchen every day

The program involves a variety of activities:

  • board games
  • indoor bowls, Bocce
  • iPad,
  • movies
  • conversation groups
  • mental stimulation, such as memory games and quizzes
  • relaxation exercises
  • cards
  • bingo
  • craft
  • guest speakers
  • singing
  • occasional bus outings

Who is eligible for the service?

People 65 years or older or 50 years or older and identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person:

  • who live in South East Metro area of South Australia
  • who live independently (at home) in the community
  • who may need support to go out of the home
  • who may be socially isolated
  • who are reasonably mobile
  • who are independent in their personal hygiene needs.

Transport

On request transport via private taxi can be arranged. Ring the Program Manager, Janine Callegari 8276 1144 if you require transport.

Cost

crosswordThere is a small fee that you will be asked to contribute towards the meal, transport and activities. Part days are also available. Please note that you will not be disadvantaged from accessing the program if you are experiencing financial difficulties. Alternatively, for those who are receiving a Home Care Package (HCP) and are not eligible for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funding, attendance can be arranged with your package provider (price on application).  For more info check our website here

Outings and bus trips usually incur costs in addition to the daily fee.
